Description
The Purolator® Key Pleat® is a standard-capacity, self-supported pleated (SSP) air filter that is suitable for use in HVAC or process air applications with low or medium dust-holding requirements. The filter achieves MERV 8 mechanical efficiency and can save users time and money previously wasted on replacing damaged wire-backed filters. With no metal that can warp or deform, moisture-resistant beverage board frame, and rugged synthetic media, the Key Pleat® maintains its structural integrity even in wet or humid conditions. The uniformity of pleat height and spacing ensures optimal performance throughout the useful life of every Key Pleat® filter. The combination of the self-supporting media and the innovative, automated construction also means low resistance to airflow and cost-effective, environmentally responsible use of energy resources. Additionally, the consistent pleat spacing supports balanced loading, which maximizes the dust-holding capacity of the filter. With over 140 adhesion points between the media and frame on a 24” x 24” x 2” filter, the Key Pleat® Standard resists movement, bunching, and collapsing during use, supporting a consistent low pressure drop and longer service life. Key Pleat® Standard air filters are not recommended for applications with very high and/or turbulent airflows, higher operating temperatures or excessive dust-loading conditions. For Key Pleat® filters with a lower initial resistance (in. w.g.), see the Key Pleat® HC.Markets:Commercial and Industrial HVACProcess Air FiltrationApplications:Air handling systemsRooftop unitsSide access housingsBuilt-up filter banksPre-filters in multi-stage systemsNot for use in high temperature environments or applications with very high or turbulent airflowBenefitsSelf-supported media — no metal wire backing, which means no corrosion or deformation of metalConsistent pleat shape and spacing allow particulates to collect evenly over the entire surface of the media.
